Instrumentation Strategies in Distributed Functional Computing ?
نویسنده
چکیده
A distributed implementation of the functional language Objective Caml, to speed up functional computations by spawning tasks to diierent nodes in a cluster of computers, is instrumented for performance monitoring purposes. The gathered data will support and guide programmer's annotations and, nally, the strategy used by the scheduler to balance the workload. The architecture of the system is based on a master agent that manages the distribution of work among multiple slave agents.

Time Synchronized Measurements in Cluster Computing Systems
We describe hardware time synchronization instrumentation that we have developed which achieves time synchronization of better than one microsecond. The purpose of this instrumentation is for Quality of Service characterization of parallel and distributed computing and of network communications. Using this instrumentation we measure the accuracy achieved by the NIST Autolock time synchronizatio...
متن کاملComparison of Clinical, Functional, and Radiological Outcomes of Total Knee Arthroplasty Using Conventional and Patient-Specific Instrumentation
Background: Recently, patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) systems have been developed in order to increase theaccuracy of component positioning during total knee arthroplasty (TKA); however, the findings of previous studies arecontroversial in this regard. In the current randomized clinical study, the outcomes of computer tomography (CT)-basedPS (patient specific)-guided TK...
متن کاملExtending Instrumentation Grids to Wireless Sensor Networks
Grids of computing and storage resources have been extended with a new type of resources, the instruments, in what is referred to as instrumentation grids. Sensor grids can be viewed as an instance of instrumentation grids, whereby wireless sensor networks are integrated within a distributed computing/storage resource-sharing environment. They enable wireless sensor networks with computing powe...
متن کاملDisTriB: Distributed Trust Management Model Based on Gossip Learning and Bayesian Networks in Collaborative Computing Systems
The interactions among peers in Peer-to-Peer systems as a distributed collaborative system are based on asynchronous and unreliable communications. Trust is an essential and facilitating component in these interactions specially in such uncertain environments. Various attacks are possible due to large-scale nature and openness of these systems that affects the trust. Peers has not enough inform...
